ABSTRACT

The article is devoted to the discussion of trends and problems of the modern expansion of transhumanist ideas. Analyzing the phenomenon of transhumanism, the authors note that this intellectual direction has designated as one of its main guidelines the creation of an artificial mind that surpasses the natural one, in order to use it as a tool to achieve complete power over a person. It is emphasized that, along with this, transhumanism declares itself as an international socio-political movement, the scale and activity of which correlate with the pace of development of NBIC technologies. At the same time, in various associations and movements, there is a whole range of versions and discrepancies in assessing the possibilities, effectiveness and necessity of applying the latest discoveries in the field of nanotechnology, genetic engineering, artificial intelligence technologies, robotics, neuroscience, etc. in order to transform human nature. The paper considers the main scientific and technological areas where adherents of transhumanism and technocrats count on success. Humanistic and other aspects of human cyborgization are discussed. The authors believe that the real goal of creating cyber systems and cyber prostheses is not to make life easier for the disabled, as it is declared, but to connect the computer with the human brain and create a single bio-cybernetic system with feedback. This may open up previously unprecedented opportunities for external influence on a person and the programming of social processes, which may mean the onset of the posthuman era. The article emphasizes that the problem of creating a strong artificial intelligence, the so-called human-like and superior machines, actually comes down to developing a set of measures to force a person to obey. In this regard, from the point of view of the authors, the growing global trend of immersion of the young generation in the virtual world raises serious concerns, since in this way the preparation of the basis, the substratum of the transhumanist society of the future is realized.
